In recent publications about tree felling for a heating main in Teremky, the Respublika residential complex is mentioned. Since this concerns a KAN Development project, we are explaining that the company has nothing to do with these works. We will add a technical detail that clarifies the situation. Our company is neither the client, nor the designer, nor the contractor; it did not choose or approve the route of the heating main and is not carrying out any work on this section. The Respublika residential complex has no need for this heating main — it is not being built at KAN’s request and does not concern the heat supply of the complex. The client for the works is a municipal enterprise of the city. Decisions on the route, approvals, and permits were made by the relevant city and state authorities within their powers. It is worth noting that the landscaping of that same forest belt along Teremkivska Street was done by us at the time, at the project’s expense. Pedestrian paths, greenery, benches, bins, a dog-walking area, lighting — this is our investment in this territory. That is why the loss of the trees here saddens us just as it does the residents. At the same time, we understand the circumstances in which such decisions are made. Kyiv’s energy infrastructure has been under attack for more than one winter, and heat in homes in winter is a matter of people’s safety. In these conditions, the city’s priorities are clear to us.
